Uttar Pradesh: Rs 8 crore property in Mukhtar Ansari sons’ name attached in Mau district | Varanasi News

VARANASI: Initiating action against jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari’s sons under Gangster Act, a joint team of Mau administration and police attached four plots worth Rs eight crore in Jahangirabad area of Sadar tehsil in Mau district on Sunday.
Notably, Mukhtar’s MLA son Abbas Ansari with his sibling Umar Ansari and their uncle had surrendered before MP-MLA court on Friday and the DM Mau issued an order to attach the property on Saturday. SP Mau Avinash Pandey said that under the ongoing drive to destroy the economic empire of gangsters the joint team of local administration and police completed the formalities of attaching four plots in the name of Abbas Ansari and Umar Ansari in Jahagirabad area.
CO Sadar Dhananjay Mishra, who led the team in Jahangirabad said that Mukhtar’s gang had purchased four plots in Jahangirabad in the name of his mother with illegally earned money which were later transferred in Abbas and Umar’s name. The DM on Saturday issued an order to confiscate these plots.
Mishra said that all legal formalities for attachment of four plots of Rs eight crore market value had been completed. This shocker for Abbas comes at a time when he had surrendered before the court on Friday and was granted bail by the MP-MLA court in two cases of violation of model code of conduct lodged during the 2022 assembly polls.
Before it, Abbas, who had emerged victorious as SP-SBSP alliance candidate from Mau Sadar assembly seat, where his father maintained a monopoly since 1996, was in serious problems due to being declared absconder by Lucknow’s special MP-MLA court in August in a case in which he was accused of transferring an arms licence from UP to New Delhi without informing Lucknow Police and taking many weapons by cheating based on one licence.
Despite raids across the state, the police could not arrest Abbas, On Wednesday, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Abbas in the arms licence case and directed UP government not to take any coercive steps against him till further orders. After getting this relief Abbas had met SP chief Akhilesh Yadav in Saifai before reaching Mau.
