Uttar Pradesh: Five of family killed as car rams into stranded container truck | Lucknow News


LUCKNOW: Five persons of a family were killed when the car they were travelling in rammed into a stranded container truck near Khajhaula police outpost in Munderwa area of Basti district on late Sunday evening.
ASP Basti, DN Chaudhary said that a speeding car rammed into a container truck parked on the roadside on National Highway No 28 near Khajhaula police post in Munderwa police station area.
“The deceased were identified as Junior Engineer Vinod Kumar (38), his wife Neelam (34) his daughter Khusboo (15) son Ehsaas (19), and his mother Sursati Devi (65) died on the spot,” he said.
He said that the family was on its way to Sant Kabir Nagar from Lucknow. Police has sent the bodies for post-mortem examination
Chaudhary said that the impact of the crash was such that the roof of the car was sheared, and it got stuck at the rear portion of the container truck. “It took us almost 30 minutes to retrieve the bodies from the vehicle using gas-cutters,” he said.
