Daltonganj: Ahead of Diwali on Monday, the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR) management distributed diyas, candles and sparkles among tourists who are staying in the rest houses on Sunday.
Mukesh Kumar, deputy director (south division) of the PTR, said, “Today, we distributed Diwali items among guests who have come from West Bengal. They are in forest rest house at Maromar under Garu range. The idea is to make tourists feel at home this Diwali with our warmth and goodies. We will ensure they don’t miss any festivity here.”
However, Kumar appealed to people to refrain from using firecrackers.
“We have asked everyone not to burst any firecrackers. Let the wildlife be at peace. Children can burn sparkles here,” he said.
The tourists also expressed happiness over the PTR management’s unique initiative.
Deputy director (North) Kumar Ashish said, “We have two tourist families staying in our tree house at Betla National Park. We are extending all hospitality to them so that they do not miss their any joy in this festival of light.”
