Prayagraj: Officials of the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) have issued a notice to the owner of a building which houses Global Hospital in Dhoomanganj area of the city, asking the occupants to vacate the premises before October 28 as the building, which has been constructed without proper approved plans, will be sealed.
The privately-owned Global Hospital came under the scanner after patients were allegedly administered ‘mosambi’ (sweet lime) juice (which resembles the colour of platelets) instead of platelets, leading to the death of a person on October 17 and subsequent arrest of 10 involved in supply of such ‘platelets’. The hospital doctors and management had gone missing after he authorities sealed the hospital. A high-level probe conducted into the matter by a joint team of health, police and administration on Wednesday revealed that the dengue patient who died after transfusion at the hospital was administered poorly preserved platelets and not ‘mosambi’ juice as alleged by his family members.
