PRAYAGRAJ: Four members of an interstate gang involved in auto-lifting were arrested by a team of George town police on Sunday. Four cars, including two SUVs, seven mobiles, and car lifting apparatus were seized from their possession.
The arrested auto lifters were identified as Shahnawaz alias Sahil alias Maqsood of Pratapgarh, Vinod Kumar Jaiswal alias Pappan of Holagarh, Rajkumar Yadav alias Ramu of Gopalganj and Harish alias Kalu of Ghaziabad.
Cops have also been looking for one Rishi of Sulemsarai, a member of the gang. Police said the arrested Shahnawaz was wanted by police of different districts after as many as 16 criminal cases were registered against him in different police stations. Besides, as many as 22 criminal cases were also registered against Pappan. TNN
