The announcement comes amid the ongoing faceoff between the Centre and social media companies on new information technology (IT) rules in India.
Two months ago, Maheshwari was issued multiple notices by the Ghaziabad police in relation to an assault video of an elderly man that surafced on the social media site and created an uproar.
After multiple hearings, Maheshwari was granted interim relief by the Karnataka high court, directing that no coercive action be taken against him.
