Govt to frame new job rules for para-teachers in a week: Mahto | Ranchi News

Ranchi: State education minister Jagarnath Mahto on Wednesday said that the rules for providing employment to the para-teachers along the lines of their counterparts in Bihar will be drafted within a week.
He added that the draft would be handed over to the para-teachers and the government will make changes and inclusions as per the para-teachers’ views.
Mahto conducted separate meetings with his department officials and a delegation of para-teachers on the issue of regularization.
He appealed to the para teachers to agree to the government’s decision and assured them that their long-pending demands will be fulfilled.
Para-teacher Pradyuman Kumar Singh, who attended the meeting, said that once the new rules are implemented around 50,000 teachers, who have not cleared the teacher eligibility test, would have to pass an eligibility test in three attempts to get the benefits. He added that the para-teachers have demanded that their honorarium be increased immediately and Mahto assured that he would take up the issue later on.
A section of the para-teachers, however, expressed dissatisfaction over the outcome of the meetings and protested outside Mahto’s residence in Doranda.
