Cleaning of Chhath ghats begins in Hazaribag | Ranchi News


HAZARIBAG: The Hazaribag Municipal Corporation officials on Wednesday said the cleaning of over 24 Chhath ghats has begun. The district administration has deployed a large number of security personnel at the water bodies.
“There are two dozen ghats in 36 wards of the corporation. Teams have been dispatched to clean the lakes. Special care is being taken for the safety of the devotees by installing bamboo structures,” municipal commissioner Prerna Dikshit said.
Officials are laying emphasis on the cleanliness of Hazaribag lake and Chhath Talab in Nawabgunj locality which have been drawing devotees for over 150 years.
Hazaribag SP Manoj Ratan Chothe said a large number of CRPF, Jharkhand Armed Police and Hazaribag district armed police personnel been deployed around the ghats to maintain law and order and the district division of Jharkhand Bijli Vitaran Nigam Limited has been directed to maintain uninterrupted power supply.
