Gauri was murdered on September 5, 2017. The trial of her case is still going on.
Congress was on their 28th day of the march that started in Tamil Nadu, entering Karnataka last week. Gandhi walked with Kavita and Indira on Friday, the eigth day of the yatra’s Karnataka leg.
Gandhi shared the photo of him marching alongside Lankesh’s family, saying he stands with her and countless others who “represent the true spirit of India”. Gandhi can be seen holding Gauri’s mother’s Indira’s hand in the photo.

He said the Bharat Jodo Yatra is the voice of people like Lankesh and that can never be silenced. “Gauri stood for Truth, Gauri stood for Courage, Gauri stood for Freedom. I stand for Gauri Lankesh and countless others like her, who represent the true spirit of India,” said the tweet.
The 3,570-km-long Bharat Jodo Yatra began from Kanyakumari on September 8. It has so far covered hundreds of kilometres across the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
