KANPUR: A three-year-old boy was run over by a school bus in Bidhnu police station area of the district on Friday. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon while the child was playing in front of his house in Dalelpurwa area of Bidhnu. The deceased has been identified as Suraj, son of Raj Kumar.
According to police, the child suffered serious head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby Community Health Centre, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Infuriated by the incident, locals of the area caught the bus driver and thrashed him severely. In-charge police station Yogesh Kumar Singh said the driver has been taken into custody, and the bus has been impounded. “Action will be taken after registering a case on the basis of the complaint,” he further said.
