Gumla: Three youths died while two others sustained critical injuries when a goods truck ran over them after their motorcycles had a collision near Totambi Kentoli village along the Gumla-Lohardaga state highway under Ghaghra police station on Friday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Rajkumar Oraon (18) and Ajit Oraon (18), both of Kharka village under the sadar police station, and Ramesh Oraon (20) of Chadheya village under the Ghaghra police station. The two injured, who are undergoing treatment at the sadar hospital are Manoj Oraon (20) of Kharka and Manish Oraon (18) of Chadheya village, police said.
The officer-in-charge of Ghaghra police station, Amit Chaudhary, said, “Three youths hailing from Kharka village were riding a motorcycle on way to their village from Ghaghra while two motorcycle-borne youths of Chedheya village were returning to their village from Gumla. As they reached Kentoli, they were speeding and had a head-on collision. All five fell down on the road.”
